Earlier this year I wanted to create a promotional piece that involved a linear sequence of events. I thought for a few seconds to some of my favorite businesses, and quickly thought of my good friend, amazing wedding photographer Randi Voss.
Anyone who hires Randi knows that they are getting someone with a perfect balance of technical competence and a fun, easygoing personality. I’ve shot with Randi, and I’ve seen how she works. She uses a lot of equipment – multiple cameras, lenses, flashes, strobes… but her manner is so smooth and seamless, that I would bet that most clients have no idea. You don’t ever see her fumbling or looking for something misplaced because she is so organized.
It’s that level of organization and efficiency that I wanted to convey in this promo piece. Enjoy!

My dear friend, I aplupad and congratulate you for this extraordinary achievement. Shooting cinema with SLR cameras is very difficult and to take on the task of telling a whole wedding story without much experience is a little like learning to swim one day, and the next day swimming the Panama Canal. Of course I was not the slightest bit surprised at how thoroughly you captured the fun and zaniness of one of my most favorite couples, Jordan and Andrew. I remember well the goal of just getting some nice footage in focus, and yes, you did that. And so, so much more. I’m so happy to have had a small part in your first wedding cinema, and so pleased to see the final product finally appear here on your blog.
