When I checked the forecast Friday night, I saw 90% chance of sun. Does it ever get higher than that? I don’t think so.

Saturday did not disappoint, however. It was a perfect, hot, sunny June day, a wonderful day for Dawn and Adrian’s wedding.

Dawn’s dad was very happy when he was permitted to emerge from his hiding place and get a look at his beautiful daughter.

Meanwhile, over at Adrian’s parents’ house, my assistant Alisa documented the groom and groomsmen’s bowtie shenanigans. Love this! Dawn was all smiles for the whole limo ride to Heinz Chapel. She and her bridesmaids talked the whole way about how happy they all were to be able to celebrate this wonderful day together. I wished I was recording audio! Dawn and Adrian were joined in marriage in an Orthodox ceremony. A highlight of this is the crowning of the bride and groom. In addition to Alisa, I had another assistant for the day – thanks to Kevin Jennings who tirelessly assisted Alisa and I with gear, and also did a bit of shooting, including this next photo. Heinz Chapel isn’t air conditioned, but they have a lot of fans. I loved how the ribbon connecting Dawn and Adrian’s crowns floated all around in the breeze. After the ceremony, we spent just a short time outside around Heinz Chapel and the Cathedral of Learning for some portraits of the newlyweds. It was much cooler inside the Museum! This is the Hall of Architecture. Dawn and Adrian’s reception took place at the majestic Carnegie Music Hall Foyer. The celebration began with a short series of speeches and toasts. This photo by Alisa – love how Adrian is getting  used to wearing a ring. Matron of honor Erica, whose toast was a perfect blend of sincere, touching and funny. Photo by Alisa. Parkhurst catering makes amazingly beautiful cakes! First dance: “Here, There and Everywhere” by Dawn’s favorite band, The Beatles. Cookies by Sweet Bites and Mrs. Christina Marino. What a wild dancing crowd there was! Chris from Rockin’ Bob’s kept things moving. Loved Adrian’s mom’s fascinator! She looked so regal. I’m really glad I was in the right place at the right time to capture this guest making it rain dollar bills on the dance floor. Photo by Alisa. We ended the night with a few portraits in front of the waterfall wall in the Sculpture Garden. What a great way to end the night! Except, this was not actually the end. I was not prepared for what happened next! However, that’s a subject for another blog post on another day. You’re just going to have to wait and see…

Congratulations Dawn and Adrian! Hope you have a wonderful time in Hawaii.
