I’m so happy to share some of my favorite images from Leigh and Scott’s wedding at the Heinz History Center. After meeting them and shooting their engagement session last fall, I’d been looking forward to this day as I knew these two were going to make it amazing. And they did.
We began the day as Leigh and Scott each got ready at the Hampton Inn, across the street from the Heinz History Center. While initially they hadn’t planned to see each other before the ceremony, a few weeks before the big day they changed their minds. We were lucky that March delivered a beautiful sunny day so that we could make that happen outside.
Joining me for the day was my Syncopated Pictures teammate Nicki Dembski. Several of the photos in this post are hers, including this next one of Scott.
Neither Leigh nor Scott were deterred in the slightest at walking from the History Center down to the Convention Center. No question it was worth it for them to share this moment in such a pretty spot. Leigh and Scott are lovers of literature, and felt strongly that their wedding ceremony should be a true representation of them and their relationship. They wrote their ceremony themselves and a good friend of theirs, Erica Spayd acted as officiant. Erica did such a good job, the History Center staff wanted to add her to their recommended vendor list – too bad she’s not in the market! We are lucky to live in Pennsylvania where a self-uniting marriage license is an option. This means that you do not have to have a representative of church or state present to make your marriage legal. The ceremony took place in the Great Hall of the Heinz History Center. Photo by Nicki. Leigh and Scott had a mini cake on their table – and how cute are the bobble-head hockey players? While the guests are upstairs for cocktail hour, the History Center and Common Plea staff turn the Great Hall over into the reception area. They’re amazing. Each table had its own mini cake, too.
DJ Jeremy Ganss provided superb musical entertainment all night long. Leigh and Scott – huge congratulations to both of you! I enjoyed every minute of your wedding day and couldn’t be happier for you.
