A brand new hotel is coming to downtown Pittsburgh: Hotel Monaco! Run by the San Francisco-based Kimpton hotel chain, Hotel Monaco offers something a bit more fun and quirky without sacrificing class or elegance. I visited a Hotel Monaco in Philadelphia a couple years ago, and I recall a festive display of large, decorative spoons behind the lobby counter.
I’ve had many brides ask about downtown hotels when looking for a place to get ready on their wedding day. Opening January 2015, Hotel Monaco will feature quite a few suite options, perfect for getting ready with a group of bridesmaids or groomsmen. And you can’t beat the location at the corner of Sixth Avenue and William Penn Place, so you have two beautiful photo spots right outside the door – Mellon Square Park and Mellon Green.
Hotel Monaco offers some unique amenities, like a yoga mat in every room, a complimentary wine hour, and free bikes available to guests.
I walked past the hotel today, and while it’s still under construction, through the open door I could see grand columns in the lobby – it looks like it’s going to be beautiful!
