When you look back into your past, there are a lot of ordinary days and nights that go forgotten. If nothing particularly special happened, nothing much stands out. (See, Serial, Episode 1.)
But, every now and then you get to experience an extraordinary, amazing, unforgettable experience that you know will be a highlight you remember forever. I know I’ll never forget my 21st birthday, which I spent with my sister and two friends camping in the Grand Canyon. Or my 30th birthday, when I had my first ultrasound with my first baby and later told my in-laws they were going to be grandparents.
I recently had the opportunity to photograph a very special birthday party for a very lucky gentleman. He and 34 guests were treated to a superb meal prepared by Chef Garnett Livingston of La Maison Dining. “Meal” really doesn’t cover it, though. This culinary masterpiece was a work of art. Like Chef Livingston, many of the guests were musicians, and they rightly proclaimed that “his instrument is the stove!”
Here are just a few photos from this fantastic feast. I’m quite sure that everyone present is going to remember this celebration for a long time!
