Last week, I wrote a blog post about my family’s move from the east Pittsburgh suburbs to the North. We were so fortunate to find a house very, very close to North Park. I’ve been spending a lot of time there, and so I was very excited to have the opportunity to photograph Rachael and Marcell’s engagement session at some of my favorite spots.
This was the first time I met Rachael and Marcell in person. The smiles, the laughs! These two met at a friend’s party. Neither went to the party with any thought of meeting someone special, but they clicked instantly. Complicating matters was that Marcell was just visiting for the weekend, and had to go home, several states away. “I was never a phone guy,” Marcell told me, “but with her… I was on the phone 24-7.”
Just a few months later, Rachael had traveled back to Pennsylvania to visit her family for Thanksgiving, when she learned Marcell had been injured and was in the hospital. She immediately left to be with him and spent three days by his side. Not much after that, he moved to be with her, and they’ve been together since.
