There are a lot of different ways I can remember Megan and Matt’s wedding. First, I might think, how lucky I was to spend a fall Friday assisting my good friend Nicki (her photos are here.) And especially since I also was the second photographer with Nicki at Megan’s sister’s wedding last year. There’s also the fact that we photographed Megan and Matt’s portraits at the Pump House in Homestead. What a unique location, with extraordinarly beautiful light inside! We also had a few extra minutes and were able to use the smokestacks at the Waterfront as a backdrop.
But then I think about the Matt factor. I will always think of this wedding as the wedding with all the Matts. Yes, the groom’s name is Matt. And his dad is also Matt. Megan’s brother is Matt. Her sister married yet another Matt last year. For good measure, the DJ’s name was Matt, too. And while we’re at it, I might as well mention that my husband’s name is Matt. How many Matts is that? I don’t know. A lot.
Here are some of my favorite photos from this cool October Friday wedding at St. Therese of Liseux and St. John Cathedral Center.
It’s a fun challenge trying to get a clean photo here without any unintentional product placement. You know, Longhorn Steakhouse, Costco… they’re all right there. But it can be done.
Aren’t Megan and Matt stunning dancing together? They look like a cake topper.
Congratulations, Megan and Matt!
