This post truly is a detail fiesta! From start to finish, Anne & Eric’s wedding was carefully and expertly planned and designed. Anne had a vision of a Grecian theme featuring olive branches, and with the skilled work of Megan of Fragile Paradise and Lora at the Omni William Penn Hotel, her vision came to life. Read on to get a look at Anne’s exquisite details… a giant seating chart mirror… a plethora of white hydrangeas… a perfect combination of gold sequin and black and white floral overlay linens… and my favorite, soft, flowing ivory fabric woven through the backs of gold chiavari chairs. So pretty.
Anne’s Sottero & Midgley gown.
The decor in the Urban Room of the Omni William Penn provided me with fantastic backdrops for Anne’s shoes and jewelry. Here is that beautiful chiavari chair decor. I’m not sure what you call this- fabric threaded through the back of the chair? Woven? Braided? I’ll settle for calling it beautiful.
I’ve learned that these dangly green plants are called green hanging amaranthus. So soft and delicate.
Ring bearer Jack knew that his job was serious stuff. This meant he had his very own badge and briefcase.
Anne & Eric’s ceremony was held at beautiful First Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh. Megan of Fragile Paradise created stunning aisle decor, lining the entire aisle with olive branches and white flowers, and lots of candlelit lanterns. Two beautiful arrangements of white hydrangeas and green hanging amaranthus sat on the altar. Breathtaking!
I loved Anne’s bouquet, which featured freesia, hydrangeas, champagne roses, pale pink roses, anemones, ranunculus and peonies.
And now, on to the Urban Room at the Omni! But, before we venture inside the room – I must first share what greeted guests and directed them where to sit. My jaw dropped when I saw this enormous mirror! I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say it was 10 feet tall. Also, I loved Anne & Eric’s monogram, which tied many details together.
And, here we go… into the dark Urban room. The room itself is extraordinary, with the huge light fixture, black glass walls and towering ceiling. Pair all that with this elegant design of black, white and gold, and it’s something truly special.
What a pretty sweetheart table.
Monogrammed napkins with the menu and an olive branch tucked in.
Of course there was a fabulous Pittsburgh cookie table.
And how pretty is this Prantl’s Burnt Almond Torte with ranunculus and olive branches?
Even this buffet off to the side of the room looked pretty.
A final note for my photographer friends… it’s really dark in the Urban Room. I used two strobes for most of the night, but I was curious to have a measurement of just how dark it was in there. The photo below is ambient light only. ISO 8000, f2.0 1/100, exposure boosted 1/2 stop in Lightroom. That’s really dark. Thank you to all the amazing vendors that helped make this event happen!
