After a lifetime of waiting for this day, Jenna and Kit were finally married this past Saturday. Only when I heard Jenna’s father’s and sister’s speeches did I understand how excited Jenna was for this day. Her father explained how the Carnegie Museum had been built over 100 years ago, and now, in 2016, it finally got to serve its purpose as the location of the wedding of Jenna’s dreams.
The day began with Jenna and Kit getting ready at the Wyndham Hotel in Oakland. Jenna and Kit had decided to do a first look before their ceremony, to be sure we would have enough time for photos at the museum. This made for a perfectly paced timeline without a hectic scramble before the reception. Great decision, Jenna and Kit! The extra bonus is that their first look was not just a practical choice, but allowed for several emotional moments for the two of them, all to themselves.
Their ceremony followed at my favorite church in all of Pittsburgh, St. Paul’s Cathedral. So many smiles all around! Reception followed at the Carnegie Music Hall Foyer. Jenna and Kit amazed their friends and family with an upbeat choreographed dance. DJ Rockin’ Steve entertained guests, young and old, until the very end of the reception.
Thanks to Nicki for shooting with me. Enjoy some of our favorite photos.
The first First Look… the one with Dad.
“My groom!!!” Jenna cried as she walked toward Kit.
I loved these bridesmaid dresses. So light and flowy.
I love the combination of low and high centerpieces; beautiful arrangements by Blumengarten.
Jenna and Kit are tall. Really tall. Jenna is six feet without heels, and Kit is way taller than that. So in this next photo Jenna is at least seven feet off the ground.
Just love this moment of satisfaction when the dance was over.
Quite possibly my favorite mother/son photo ever.
Team DJ Rockin’ Steve!
Congratulations Jenna & Kit! So happy for you that you’re finally married, and so jealous that you’re in Italy!
