“We are all a little weird and life’s a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.”
– Dr. Seuss
This Dr. Seuss quote came to mind throughout the course of Tracy and Nick’s wedding day. Let me first make it clear that to me, saying that someone is a little weird is absolutely a compliment! But it was so evident to me that these are perfectly in sync and see eye to eye in everything. I think this was clearest of all when they hit the dance floor at the end of the night and were truly able to relax and enjoy themselves!
Tracy and Nick’s wedding day was a bit out of the ordinary. When they first contacted me, I was surprised to see that while their reception would be at the Urban Room at the Omni William Penn in Downtown Pittsburgh, the ceremony would be in Somerset, 70 miles away. When we met, they explained that there are three grandparents living in Somerset who mean the world to them, but would not be physically able to make the trip to Pittsburgh. With this in mind, they decided to have the ceremony and a short brunch reception in Somerset, and then travel to Pittsburgh for the reception.
Tracy and Nick opted to book both photography and video through me. Christina Knaus and Nicki Dembski filmed video, and I handled the photography, but truly we were one team! I helped out occasionally with the video needs, and Nicki and Christina both assisted me with lighting, and shot a few photos, too.
Don’t miss the invitations at the end! Nick, a graphic designer, designed them himself. Plus, they used the monogram that he designed as their cake topper! Loved this.
Here are some of my favorite photos from this beautiful, classic wedding.
