I know that on your wedding day, you have a huge list of things to do. And I have a lot of nerve asking you to do one more! The good news is, this one can probably be delegated to your maid of honor or one of your bridesmaids.

Here’s my request: when you’re in your getting ready location, have your details ready to be photographed. Shoes, dress, jewelry – anything you want me to photograph. Ready means:

Easily accessible.

You might be in the midst of having your hair done when I arrive. “My shoes are in the gray box in the pink bag in my suitcase which is in the closet…” has been known to turn into a wild goose chase.

Tags cut off.

I do carry a scissors with me though, just in case…

Cardboard and paper removed.

Wedding dresses are often wrapped up in a large garment bag, and then stuffed full of paper. I like to get right to work photographing when I arrive, so it saves me a lot of time to have everything unwrapped and camera ready. Then I can move right on to capturing beautiful images like these. Because I love efficiency, and don’t love wasted time.
