We have a lot of winter in Pittsburgh, but not a lot of winter weddings. As a person who talks to people, I’ve noticed most people aren’t a fan of this brisk season. I suppose winter has its challenges, but I honestly think there’s nothing prettier than a snowy landscape or a frozen river. And so I was very, very fond of the light blue and white scheme that Christy and Ryan used for their December winter wedding at the Carnegie Music Hall Foyer and Hall of Sculpture. I shared some of their wedding highlights last week, but today I want to focus on the details that came together to make up this winter theme.
Blue and White Floral Details by Gidas Flowers
I love the simplicity of this boutonniere – a white calla lily resting on a little Dusty Miller, with a few silver brunia berries.
Winter Wedding Ceremony at the Carnegie Museum Hall of Sculpture
The blue and white hydrangeas in the ceremony arrangements fit right in to the gray and white Hall of Sculpture.
What a pretty little bouquet for the mother of the groom.
Christy’s stunning bouquet: white calla lilies, silver brunia berries, and blue hydrangeas.
And in contrast to that blue on white, the bridesmaids bouquets were white hydrangeas, calla lilies and blue thistle. So pretty with the light blue dresses.
Cake by Culinaire + flowers by Gidas. WOW
Winter Wedding at the Carnegie Music Hall Foyer
And… the beautiful reception room, the Carnegie Music Hall Foyer. Blue linens, blue uplighting on the pillars, with gold chiavari chairs and a combination of tall and low centerpieces made this one stunning winter wedding reception.
The perfect ending – a candy table, with blue and white candy… and, of course, a cookie table!
