Why is the Sheraton at Station Square a good choice for wedding photos or an engagement session?
- There’s a patio right behind the Sheraton, along the river. In the summer months, there are tables and umbrellas set up and you’re likely to find guests lying out on lawn chairs. If you’re early or late in the season, and the tables are gone, this is a nice first look location. When the tables are there, you’re limited to a small walkway right around the corner, or the busy lobby.
- You’re right next to Station Square and can take advantage of the photo opportunities there.
Any caveats?
- The only parking is in the Station Square garage or parking lots. Remember – if you’re getting ready here and then going to your destination in a limo, your photographer still needs to allow enough time to retrieve her car from the garage!

Please don’t overlook what time of day your photo session will take place! Note that each photo has a not-particularly-attractive time stamp on it. Why did I put these ugly numbers all over these photos? Because time of day is critical to creating beautiful photos. And time of day is fluid depending on the time of year. For example, 6:30pm might be the perfect time of day for photos at the North Shore in May… but if you go at 6:30pm in November, it’s going to be dark. Be sure to consult a sunset calculator so you know when it will be getting dark on the day of your shoot. Better yet – ask your photographer!
