Bar/Bat Mitzvahs
You and your child spend countless hours preparing for their Bar/Bat Mitzvah. Studying, driving, practicing, talking about the service, and planning the celebration. It’s a lot of work!
My goal is to make the photography aspect of the event as easy as possible! My goal as unobtrusive as possible so that all of your family can maximize their celebration time. Depending on the structure of your day, I’ll guide you through the formal family photos to be sure we capture the various family groupings that are most important to you. And I’ll also shoot all the details, big and small, so that the whole story of the event can be told through photographs.
There is a lot of variety as far as when photography is permitted. Some congregations allow for the service to be photographed, and others do not. For those that don’t allow photography, we typically meet during the week prior to the service for photos on the bimah.
The first Bar Mitzvah I ever photographed was in 2010, and it was also the first one I’d ever been to. I instantly fell in love with this rite of passage, and how much it means to the entire family to see young people take this important step. It is an honor to be asked to capture such a memorable and meaningful event, and it’s a duty I take very seriously. Photographs aid and even shape our memories, and it’s extremely important to have a professional devoted to photographing these very special occasions so you can relax and enjoy yourself. Thank you for trusting me with this responsibility!
